Simon
Wiesenthal was a Holocaust survivor who dedicated much of his
life to tracking down Nazi war criminals so that they could be
brought to justice for crimes against humanity. He wrote a number
of books about his experiences and was the subject of an HBO movie
about his life, starring Ben Kingsley. The Wiesenthal Center in
Los Angeles, named in his honor, works to educate "by confronting
antisemitism, hate and terrorism, promoting human rights and dignity
… and teaching the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations."
