Kimberly
King is a social entrepreneur and global change leader who has been instrumental
in helping to organize numerous organizations and projects focused on building
a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. She
is founder of GiveHerCredit.com, a Living Legacy Empowerment Initiative, a co-founder
of Sophia Circles Global Action Network, and Co-President with her husband Brent,
of The Peace Company, a progressive social enterprise dedicated to peace and social
justice. Her many passions include children's education and health, women's self-empowerment
and using communications and media to help bring about global transformation.
As a teen, Kimberly King's dream was to travel around the world and make a difference.
Her work has brought
her to 70 countries, helping to build schools in Africa, community centers and
orphanages in Asia, clean water projects in South America, and many other social
ventures. In October
2008, the Women's International Center named Kimberly King as the first recipient
of the Eleanor Roosevelt Global Humanitarian Award in celebration of the 60th
Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
