Anne
Hathaway is an American film and stage actress who captured the public's attention
with her 2001 role in the Disney family comedy, The Princess Diaries. After
starring in several more Disney films she found herself a role model for young
people as well as a star. Her popularity continued even with more grown-up roles
such as her performance in Brokeback Mountain, and her 2006 appearance
in The Devil Wears Prada was an even greater success. People Magazine
named her one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" that year. However,
it wasn't until she began doing charity work with the Follieri Foundation, founded
by her boyfriend, that she realized something important had been missing from
her life. The Follieri Foundation provides medical assistance for children who
live in third world countries, and Anne Hathaway has made several trips to volunteer
with the organization.
