conscience would naturally want us to do.

win the war on terror, we must preserve our moral authority to lead the world.
If we are to succeed in spreading democracy abroad, we must defend the fundamental
principles of democracy at home.
Imagine
if the billions of dollars spent on the war in Iraq so far had been directed towards
giving people the ability to feed their families, access to clean water and healthcare,
and a basic education. These missed opportunities must be kept in mind when evaluating
the actual cost of the war in Iraq.
