Dana Welles Delany is a two-time Emmy Award-winning American film, stage, and television actress best known for her role on the TV series, China Beach. She has also appeared in a number of Hollywood films and TV movies, including Housesitter, Tombstone and Fly Away Home. When her friend Sharon Monsky was diagnosed with the auto-immune disease scleroderma and created the Scleroderma Research Foundation to find a cure and improve the life of the 300,000 American scleroderma patients, Dana Delany joined the board began to help campaign for the organization. She starred in the 1996 TV movie For Hope, directed by Bob Saget about the life of his sister who died from the disease. Sharon Monsky died from scleroderma in 2002, but her friend Dana Delany continues to work with the organization to help others with this disease.
