HOW YOU CAN HELP

Thank you for your desire to drive Emily’s legacy forward. She believed that the individual, either alone or in the company of a group, had the power to stimulate change. Small ripples build over time with regular effort to generate waves of change.

Many of us feel compelled either regularly or sporadically to give of ourselves, either through our time, money or material contribution, but simply don’t know where to begin. You may feel comfortable connecting to a cause that has personal meaning, interest or comfort. Or, you may want to use your “giving” as an opportunity to open your mind and expand your knowledge about an area or situation that is entirely new to you or out of your normal comfort zone. Local activity (i.e. community litter pick-up, food bank work, recycling monitor at school-Emily did this in her freshman college dorm) may give you the same satisfaction as working on global issues, such as genocide in Sudan, protesting the Iraq war (our family has done this before and after the onset) or nuclear weapons testing. It matters not-just do, so that others may do better. In your name, in Emily’s honor, GIVE.

Let us know what you are doing. We’ll add it to the following list of activities that have come to our attention in honor of our beloved daughter.

There will be speeches, food and drink, a slideshow, and most importantly music to celebrate her life performed by people whose lives Emily touched. There will be a suggested donation of $5 at the door, and refreshments will be sold." More info available at www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=103313130285&ref=nf
