Bruno Kreisky Prize
For Services to Human Rights

The Bruno Kreisky Award is given by the Bruno Kreisky Foundation For Human Rights roughly every two years to individuals or organizations for their contribution to the promotion of human rights. The award was created in 1976 on the 65th birthday of Bruno Kreisky, a popular Chancellor of Austria who was twice a political prisoner and an outspoken defender of human rights. In addition to the awards, the foundation also hosts the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue which brings together international figures to discuss important social issues like peace, human rights and globalization. Some of the Laureates are listed here. For a complete list: http://www.kreisky.org/human.rights/englisch/awards.htm
